How to use
- Add files or choose a folder.
- Build the new name with tokens such as {name}, {ext}, {n:3}, {date} and {parent}.
- Add rules such as find and replace (plain or regular expression), case, prefix/suffix, numbering, date, remove characters, trim or extension. The preview shows every old and new name and flags duplicates and invalid names.
- Download a ZIP of renamed copies, rename in place, or download a script that renames the originals.
Worked example
Pattern “trip-{n:3}” on IMG_4831.JPG, IMG_4832.JPG… with case set to lowercase produces trip-001.jpg, trip-002.jpg and so on.

Limitations
- In-place renaming needs a Chromium-based browser and your permission for the folder.

- Duplicate names and names that are invalid on Windows (reserved names such as CON, characters such as : ? *) must be fixed before anything is produced.
Questions
Can it rename the files on my disk?
Only in Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge), after you give permission for the folder. Other browsers cannot change files on disk; download the renamed copies as a ZIP or use the generated script instead.
What happens with duplicate or invalid names?
They are flagged in the preview and must be fixed before anything is produced. That includes names that would clash and names that are invalid on Windows, such as CON or names containing : ? *.
