How to use
- Add images (format is detected from file contents, not the extension).
- Choose the output format and quality.
- Convert and download individually or as a ZIP.
Worked example
Converting twenty 12-megapixel HEIC photos to JPEG at quality 85 produces twenty .jpg files you can open anywhere.
Supported formats and limits
| Input | JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF (first frame), BMP, TIFF, HEIC/HEIF, ICO, SVG |
|---|---|
| Output | JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO |
| Limits | Up to 50 MB and 50 megapixels per image; 200 images per batch. |
| Engine | Decoders: browser, UTIF (TIFF), libheif (HEIC). Encoders: MozJPEG, OxiPNG, libwebp, libavif (jSquash WASM), gifenc, UTIF; all in a Web Worker |
Limitations
- Animated GIF and WebP inputs use the first frame.
- Converting to GIF reduces colours to a 256-colour palette.
- Transparency is replaced by the chosen background colour when saving as JPEG or BMP.
Questions
What happens to transparent areas?
PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF and ICO keep transparency. JPEG and BMP have no transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with the background colour you pick (white by default).
Are animated GIF or WebP files kept animated?
No. Animated inputs are converted from their first frame only, and GIF output is a single frame reduced to at most 256 colours.
Will a rotated phone photo come out sideways?
No. The EXIF orientation is applied to the pixels while decoding, so a photo stored sideways with an orientation flag is saved upright.
