How to use
- Add a PDF.
- Choose whether to include images and page breaks, then convert.
- For scanned pages, run the built-in OCR. Download the DOCX and open it in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs.
Worked example
A PDF with a 24 pt title, 16 pt section headings, a bulleted list and a photo becomes a DOCX with Heading 1 to 3 styles, a Word bullet list and the photo inline at its original pixel size.
Supported formats and limits
| Input | |
|---|---|
| Output | DOCX |
| Limits | Up to 100 MB and 300 pages. |
| Engine | pdf.js text runs, fonts and painted images → line, column and paragraph reconstruction → DOCX package written in the browser (fflate); optional tesseract.js OCR for scanned pages |
Limitations
- Multi-column pages, text boxes and tables are flattened into a single column of paragraphs; colours and exact fonts are not kept.
- Scanned pages have no text layer; the built-in OCR (English) can read them, with recognition errors possible.
Questions
Will the Word file keep the PDF's layout?
It keeps the text structure rather than the exact look. Multi-column pages, text boxes and tables are flattened into a single column of paragraphs, and colours and exact fonts are not kept.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Scanned pages have no text layer. The built-in English OCR can read them, but recognition errors are possible, so proofread the result.
