How to use
- Add images.
- Enter a target size (for example 100 KB) or pick a quality.
- Compress. Each result shows its final size, quality and dimensions.
Worked example
A 4 MB 4032×3024 photo with the 500 KB JPEG preset comes out between 450 KB and 500 KB at the full 4032×3024 size; the result row shows the quality the search settled on.
Supported formats and limits
| Input | JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, BMP, TIFF, HEIC |
|---|---|
| Output | JPEG, WebP, AVIF, PNG |
| Limits | Up to 50 MB per image; 200 images per batch. Targets from 10 KB. |
| Engine | Binary search over encoder quality (MozJPEG/libwebp/libavif), then stepwise downscaling |
Limitations
- Very small targets for large photos require shrinking dimensions; the result shows when that happened.
- PNG output is lossless, so it can only reach targets by reducing colours or dimensions.
Questions
Will the image get smaller in pixels?
Only if needed. The quality is searched first at full size. If even the minimum quality you set is too large and resizing is allowed, the dimensions shrink in steps of about 10% until the file fits. The result says when that happened.
Is 100 KB counted as 100,000 bytes?
No. Targets use binary units, so 100 KB is 102,400 bytes. The download never goes over the target.
Can PNG files reach a target?
PNG is lossless, so there is no quality to lower. It can reach a target only by reducing colours to a palette or by shrinking dimensions.
