How to convert Markdown to HTML

  1. Type or paste Markdown, or open a .md file.
  2. Check the live preview next to the text.
  3. Select Copy HTML to copy the rendered code.
  4. Or select HTML to download a complete page.

Worked example

The Markdown # Hi becomes <h1>Hi</h1>, and a table with the header | Item | Qty | and the separator | --- | ---: | becomes a <table> whose Qty column is right-aligned.

Limitations

  • Raw HTML in the Markdown is sanitized, so scripts, iframes, forms and inline styles are removed.
  • The downloaded page uses its own built-in styles.
  • The draft is stored only in this browser.

Questions

Is the HTML safe to paste into my site?

It is sanitized with DOMPurify: scripts, event handlers, iframes, forms and inline styles are removed before the HTML is shown, copied or downloaded.

What does the downloaded HTML file contain?

A complete page with a title taken from the first heading, built-in styles and your content. It has no scripts and no links to other files.

Which Markdown features work?

GitHub-flavored Markdown: headings, lists, tables with column alignment, task lists, strikethrough, autolinks, code blocks and quotes.
