How to use
- Paste text.
- Tick the cleanups you want; each shows how many changes it made.
- Copy the result.
Worked example
Text copied from a PDF with hard line breaks every 70 characters is re-joined into paragraphs with Join wrapped lines.
Supported formats and limits
| Input | Text |
|---|---|
| Output | Text |
| Engine | Composable cleaning passes with a change count per pass |
Limitations
- Join wrapped lines treats a blank line as a paragraph break.
- A line ending in a hyphen is joined without a space and the hyphen is kept, so check hyphenated words split across lines.
Questions
Will joining lines merge my paragraphs and lists?
No. Join wrapped lines joins lines inside a paragraph with a space, but a blank line still starts a new paragraph and lines starting with a bullet or number stay on their own line.
What counts as an invisible character?
Zero-width spaces, soft hyphens, byte-order marks, direction marks and control characters. Joiners needed inside emoji sequences and some scripts, such as Persian, are kept.
In what order are the cleanups applied?
In a fixed order from top to bottom of the list: HTML, invisible characters and Unicode normalization first, then quotes, dashes and emojis, then spaces and finally line handling. Unticked steps are skipped.
