How to use
- Type one function per row.
- Scroll to zoom and drag to pan; hover to trace.
- Turn on Roots and Intersections to mark them.
Worked example
y = x^2 − 4 crosses the x-axis at x = −2 and x = 2.
Supported formats and limits
| Input | Functions of x |
|---|---|
| Output | Graph (PNG/SVG), Points of interest |
| Engine | mathjs compiled expressions; adaptive sampling; bisection root finding |
Limitations
- Implicit equations (such as x² + y² = 1) are not plotted; write them as functions of x.
Questions
Can I plot circles or implicit equations?
No. Only functions of x (y = ...) are plotted. Write a circle as two functions, such as sqrt(1 - x^2) and -sqrt(1 - x^2).
How does it handle tan(x) or 1/x?
The curve is broken at asymptotes and jumps instead of drawing false vertical lines, and poles are not reported as roots or extrema. Points found are numerical approximations within the visible range.
