Limitations
- Percentage change from 0 is undefined and is reported as such.
Questions
Is a change from 4% to 6% a 2% increase?
It is a rise of 2 percentage points, but a 50% increase relative to the starting value. The percentage change mode uses the starting value as the reference, so from 50 to 65 is a 30% increase.
What happens with a change from zero?
A percentage change from 0 has no reference value, so the result is reported as undefined instead of dividing by zero.
